La Playa’s Annual Chili Cook‑Off — a Huge Success!

About the Event

We are thrilled to report that this year’s Chili Cook‑Off was a wonderful success! With wonderful community turnout, generous bids at the silent auction, and enthusiastic participation in chili tasting and kids’ activities — we raised over $5,000 for our preschool. Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, baked, and helped make the day so special.

This year’s Chili Cook-Off was a huge success, bringing together families, friends, and our La Playa community for a day full of fun, food, and friendly competition.

Competition Highlights:

• 8 chilis competed for the top spots.
• 1st Place: Brit with her delicious beef + bacon chili
• 2nd Place: Daniel with his hearty Bison chili
• 3rd Place: Crosby’s Grandma with her spicy beef chili

The silent auction alone raised over $3,000, and combined with chili sales, bake sale, and other contributions, the event raised just over $5,000 for our preschool!

We also celebrated Teacher Teri’s 15 years with La Playa — what an incredible milestone!

Bake Sale & Chili Bowls: Chili sold by the bowl (adults $10 / kids $5); baked goods available.
